Asian South-Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP)
Professional Statement
Established in Singapore in 1989, ASPASP is the only professional sport psychology organization in the Asian and South-Pacific region. Our mission is to promote and facilitate the development of sport and exercise psychology throughout the Asian South-Pacific region. ASPASP has 25 member countries so far and hosts general congress every 4 years, that includes annual regional sport and exercise psychology congresses, seminars, workshops, and mentor-mentee programs. ASPASP also publishes a journal, research papers, and textbooks in the domain of sport and exercise psychology. ASPASP cooperates with many international and domestic organizations and bodies who are interested in sport and exercise psychology. The role of ASPASP is to lead the development of sport and exercise psychology in Asian and South-Pacific countries.

Professor Tony Morris
Distinguished Scholar, Mentor, and Pioneer in Sport and Exercise Psychology

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend, Professor Dr Tony Morris, and also our esteemed former President, on May 25, 2025. This is a profound loss for the Asian-South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP) and the global sport psychology community.
Professor Dr Tony Morris’s contributions to the sport and exercise field, particularly in Asia, have been immeasurable. For three decades, he tirelessly championed the growth and development of sport psychology, mentoring countless individuals and fostering a culture of excellence. As a leading expert in imagery, his work has had a lasting impact on athletes and practitioners worldwide.
His legacy will endure through the many lives he touched and the foundations he laid for the future of sport psychology. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
